Earlier this year, Bentley unveiled its EXP 9F SUV concept at the Geneva Motor Show. They explained that ‘EXP’ stands for Experimental, but they failed to explain the reason for those two enormous spotlights on the front. And since it only takes a magnifying glass and some sunlight to spark a fire, just imagine the kind of blaze that you could start with those high beams…
Anyway, Bentley seems intent on building this thing, and they’ve been blinding people parading it all over the world. Last week, the Bentley EXP 9F was presented to the automotive aristocracy of Great Britain, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The hulking LuxUV got rave reviews of the lavish interior (it is pretty sweet), and the 600-hp Twin-Turbo W12 under the ‘bonnet’. And, Autocar claims the concept is under production consideration, based on the amount of interested customers Bentley has managed to blind find (perhaps this new photo barrage & video will help Bentley convince Puff Diddy to buy one?).
So, it’s becoming clear that rappers and oil-sheiks will get to order their very own BentleyUV in the next few years. Sources claim that the front & rear of the production version will be changed (praise the car gods). And Bentley said several months ago, the EXP 9F will also be available with the new 500-hp 4.0 liter V8, and a V6 Plug-in Hybrid system which will allow the beast to travel up to 18 miles on electricity alone.
Dubai Special EXP 9F is one luxurious statement vehicle to be sure. But we have to ask, how bad did the Bentley EXP 9E look?
