LA Auto Show: The 2013 Honda Civic Strikes Back!
After a disastrous launch for the 2012 model year where production was severely hindered by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan and auto journalists complained about its lack of styling pizazz and interior quality, Honda has revamped its iconic Civic lineup for the 2013 model year to answer all the naysayers. Not only is the exterior styling more dynamic with a 2013 Accord inspired front end but a more exciting rear tail lamp treatment as well.
But Honda didn’t stop there as the interior has been given a thorough working over with new plastic textures, additional chrome accents and a general spiffying up of what was already a solidly constructed cabin. Then Honda went even further and did a considerable amount of NVH work (noise, vibration, harshness) to quiet interior noise and smooth out the ride. The steering also underwent some tinkering to give it more crispness and a sportier feel. We can’t wait to drive this 2013 Honda Civic to see how these changes affect what is already one of our favorites in the compact car class.
