Dodge muscle cars have never been what you’d call subtle. So it’s fitting that Mopar’s latest special edition hot rod comes at you like a nuclear powered freight train.
Absent since 2009, the Daytona package can be ordered on the Hemi-powered 2013 Dodge Charger R/T, and it adds Satin Black hood stripes, roof wrap, decklid spoiler, and Satin Black “Daytona” lettering on the rear quarter panels. The $2,500 appearance pack also comes with black-detailed 20” rims, a Satin Black grille with vintage style R/T badging, a special suspension / steering setup, a 3.06 axle ratio, a “high-speed” engine controller, paddle shifters, and a Daytona Blue engine cover.
Now, that’s a lot of gear for the money, but the ‘Dodge Boys’ aren’t done yet. There’s Daytona Blue stitching throughout the cabin, the word ‘Daytona’ is embroidered into the seat backs, there’s unique trim bits everywhere, along with the ambiguous numbered dash plaque (they’re only making 2,500 copies of the 2013 Dodge Charger Daytona). And to top it all off, buyers will also get Dr. Dre’s 552-watt Beats Audio System.
Mercifully, the Daytona Blinding-Blue won’t be the only color offered. More self-assured buyers will be able to choose from Billet Silver, Bright White, or Pitch Black.
